The New Book of the Dog followed the form of the earlier Book of the Dog (Vero Shaw) and was an extensive treatise on dog breeds, kennels and kenneling, general management of dogs, exhibiting, buying and selling, and canine medicine and surgery. This volume features prints by well-known canine artists of the time, and we are treated to beautifully illustrated dog portraits by Lilian Cheviot, Maud Earl, Arthur Wardle, Francis C. Fairman and others.
