We began collecting antique natural history prints and children’s prints in the 1970’s and the business that is now Stonegate Antique Prints evolved from that modest antique print collection. Back then, we found these original and rare antique etchings, lithographs and chromolithographs to be the perfect way to furnish our 1886 home with affordable yet very beautiful original antique art.
In fact, we decorated the rest of our home with antique prints for about the same price that we paid for the few antique paintings hanging in our living room! We not only appreciate the aesthetic beauty of our prints but have also observed that, over time, the prices of fine quality rare and antique prints have been steadily appreciating which lets us feel good about our investment as well.
All things considered, we are convinced that antique prints offer the best value in the antique art market today, but more importantly, we appreciate the years of pleasure that we have gotten from our display of rare antique prints and the elegance that they bring to our home.
Happy Collecting,
J. Marchand
