Charming late 19th. Century soft ground etching of a bassoonist at rest.
Felician Rops was a well know Belgian printmaker active in the middle to late 1800s. My favorite instrument of the orchestra!
Dimensions: 4to., 8” x 10 1/2” overall measurement.
Condition: Uncolored etching, small crimp lower left corner will mat out, one small white spot below impression line will mat out, few tiny ink spot otherwise very good condition.
Printing type: Soft ground etching, c.1880. Very rare.
